Eban Symbol EBAN
"fence"
The Eban is the symbol of symbol of love, safety and security. It originates from an ancient West African culture called the Akan. To the Akan, the home is a special place. A home that has a fence around it is considered to be an ideal residence. The fence symbolically separates and secures the family from the outside. Because of the security and the protection that a fence affords, the symbol is also associated with the security and safety one finds in love.

The Eban was chosen as a representation of IMCI because of our focus on strengthening families and communities. In our work, we strive to help families overcome the challenges of generational poverty, and improve their safety and security.
